WWII German Nazi greatcoat?
Q. I am considering buying a reproduction M40 greatcoat for cold weather. One thing I am curious about is if the collar has buttons on one side and a strap on the other so to fasten and keep the collar popped up over the face. Since it is a very accurate reproduction, it should be like this. The website below will take you to the page that shows the coat.

Q. It was a cold grey day in late November. The weather had changed overnight, when a backing wind brought a granite sky and a mizzling rain with it, and although it was now only a little after two o'clock in the afternoon the pallor of a winter evening seemed to have closed upon the hills, cloaking them in mist. It would be dark by four. The air was clammy cold, and for all the tightly closed windows it penetrated the interior of the coach. The leather seats felt damp to the hands, and there must have beena small crack in the roof, because now and again little drips of rain fell softly through, smudging the leather and leaving a dark-blue stain like a splodge of ink. A. so far i like it, however you seem to be a bit too sophisticated in the beginning. it still is really good just tone it down a bit. build up to the scenes that way it makes it more intense

"Pennies on the Sidewalk" The dead, for all we know, wear little German shoes and leave us frozen crumbs, because the forest is dark even at midday and weird shadows sidle fleshed over the pine-needled floor. and since the dead aren't coming back to us, we must look out for them, though the trail is widely scattered and will take us all our lives to track, a crumb here, a crumb there, different cities, countries, continents, the real-estate holdings of the dead more vast than those of the Catholic Church. Just this morning I found the last brass button off the greatcoat worn in the trenches of the Somme by the sole surviving soldier of that war, and, wiping off the blood, I saw his King and heard his oath. A. This is a very interestingly written poem. Most people find death a mystery since we don't have a clear picture of what happens after we die. We certainly miss them and they can still cause us pain. Their memories linger and we reflect on their lives long after their death. Most of us wonder if the dead float out of their graves and wander among us, looking or longing for something. The last paragraph in the poem is the best, I feel, it gives me goosebumps!
