ok, over the years i've tried making casts using an initial . coat. of gel . coat. but it always turns out bad. (silicone molds) again i tried this week.
How do I measure myself for a winter coat?
Q. Since I mostly wear light, long sleeved t-shirts and jeans under loose coats, I've never given it much thought. I'd like to get a tailored coat this year, though, and am wondering if I need to add on a few inches extra to my body measurements to determine what size coat to get? I already know my own measurements, just trying to figure out how, if at all, I should alter them. I'm ordering online. But thanks for the tip.

A. Just use your basic measurements -you don't need to alter them at all. Coats are designed and cut with extra ease above and beyond the basic measurements so they fit over your regular clothes and an extra layers such as a sweater. In pattern design/cutting class we were taught how much to add and where to add it so a coat fits over clothes without being too big everywhere else. If you like to wear thick extra layers for warmth in the winter then one size up from your usual size will give you ample room to wear as many sweaters as you wish. If you add on extra inches you'll end up with a coat that's far too large for you. EG if you take a size 6 and you add just a few extra inches and you order a size 10 you'll end up with a coat that's… [cont.]
