I started painting our family homes spare bedroom this morning and after giving it the first coat of white paint it was all see through and patchy, will I have to wait a few hours before giving it a second coat? how many coats of white paint will it need as I'm starting to get a little worried incase I've done something wrong! any tips you can offer are greatly appreciated. You must under stand that you CANNOT please everyone that looks at your house (they'll find something they don't like about it , if for no other reason but to get you to negotiate the price. Don't listen to the realtor ( if you've got one )because most want to "move " your home for the quick deal ($$$).By the way,if the paints are compatible, you can paint over them as much as you like (I would'nt waste my time and $$$ )! Q. i have applied polyurethane clear gloss varnish onto my plywood and could u give me advice on what type of sand paper i should use and cos i dont know the name could u show me on google images, and when the varnish is dry on my plywood techniques on how to sand between coats for the best possible finish. thankyou btw what is the recommended hours i should wait for varnish to dry and sand between coats? Then repeat in between coates. 2-3 times around is good.
